About That Time I Became
A Chicken Farmer
If you've looked at my resume, you've likely seen that I list 3 years of experience with chicken farming. This is not a joke. I was on an extended vacation in the Dominican Republic when my passport expired. While waiting for the process to get a new passport to finish, Covid swept the world, so that ended up being the end of my passport attempts for a few years! Given that I would not be able to return to the USA for some time, nor was I eager to return to NYC, one of the most affected areas, I made the decision to stay in the country and pursue a career in free-range chicken farming. If I could learn the skills needed to farm, breed, raise, and sell chickens, frankly, I could do anything. Even now, I continue to raise and sell high-quality chickens, but it now serves more as a hobby than a job.
Please note, I am a born and raised USA citizen. Just one who got unlucky with timing.
